EXPLORE THE HAGUE BETWEEN WILD NATURE AND BREATH-TAKING VIEWS

Circuit: 71 km

Leave Cherbourg by the extension of the N13 towards the West, then the D45.

QUERQUEVILLE: visit the chapel of St-Germain (10th century) with a panoramic view of the Rade de Cherbourg.

URVILLE-NACQUEVILLE: discover the fortified manor house (16th century) of Dur-Ecu and visit the Château de Nacqueville (16th century) surrounded by a magnificent English park. In Landemer, enjoy a very beautiful view of the first cliffs of the Hague.

GREVILLE-HAGUE: the birthplace of Jean-François Millet, a famous 19th century painter. In Gruchy, visit his birthplace. Romanesque church from the 19th century – Virgin and child statue from the 14th century.

OMONVILLE-LA-ROGUE, a picturesque fishing port.

OMONVILLE-LA-PETITE: Discover Jacques Prévert’s house. Discover the atmosphere that was that of the Prévert family as well as the exhibitions.

ST-GERMAIN-DES-VAUX: Port Racine, the smallest port in France. Garden in homage to Jacques Prévert.

AUDERVILLE-GOURY: Discover the lighthouse built in the open sea in the currents of the Blanchard Raz.

On the horizon, Alderney Island. At the exit of Auderville, take the D401 to the right by the bay of Ecalgrain. Panorama. At Hameau Dannery, turn right onto the D202 towards Le Nez de Jobourg.

NEZ-DE-JOBOURG: there, escarpment of the so-called highest cliffs in Europe (126 m).

Walks on the Customs path (GR 23). Take the D202 back to Jobourg.

JOBOURG: visit the church (11th century). In the village, turn right onto the D901. On the left is COGEMA’s plant. Possibility of visits. After 1.5 km from Jobourg, turn right onto the D403 towards Herqueville.

Panorama on Vauville, Siouville and up to Cap de Flamanville.

BEAUMONT-HAGUE: turn right onto the D318, at the church. Pleasant descent to Vauville.

1.8 km from Beaumont on the right, dolmen.

VAUVILLE: discover the beach and this charming village. Church of the Xlle – 15th century. A 15th century castle surrounded by a Botanical Garden that houses more than 500 species from the southern hemisphere.

Subtropical atmosphere quite surprising. Towards the sea, a vast swampy strip called the “Mare de Vauville” (nature reserve). After Vauville, take the D237, in the village of Thot, panorama.

BIVILLE: place of pilgrimage. Remarkable dunes. Join the D901 via Sainte-Croix-Hague towards Cherbourg.

Discover the Hague in the Cotentin region: unique and wild
