The town houses of Valognes, the Little Versailles of Normandy

Valognes is located in the Clos de Cotentin near Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte. Visitors can find many town houses at the heart of this little town with an aristocratic past, which is listed as a town of art and history. In fact, from the seventeenth century many town houses were built by the town’s bourgeoisie and Nobles of the Robe, and thus the name Little Versailles of Normandy was coined. Many guided tours are available.

Top tip: Don’t miss the town house of Beaumont, which is a listed building, and its stairway of honor, its salons and its gardens…
